From a small metal shop to a worldwide supplier

The Dutch manufacturer of complete extrusion lines for the direct expansion process; for the production of light puffed snacks, shaped cereals and expanded semi-products.

The brand name Lalesse has existed already since the 1950s, when Mr. Lalesse started a small metal shop. Lalesse started to make screws and sleeves and at request built an extruder around this. It did not take long before complete lines were manufactured and sold all over the globe. Over the years much knowledge was gained; all customers run equipment differently, make a different snack, and have other preferences.

Lalesse Extrusion engineers equipment to meet the highest standards in the industry. A key factor for us is to consider customer-specific requirements and meet those with custom-tailored solutions. Tailor-made is not only about mechanical design but also internal aspects, for example, certain computer controls, use of specific electronics, special safety regulations and process parameters. It is also important to perform equipment and product testing beforehand. This is to ensure the client is happy with the output and avoid machine errors during installation. Besides, testing can become the first teaching step for future operators of the plant.

From 2006 until 2024 Lalesse was under Mekelenkamp Holding in Huissen, the Netherlands.  Recently the company was acquired by Kuipers Food Processing Machinery, a worldwide snack processing equipment specialist. This integration brings great synergy to both companies and presents snack producers the possibility of having a one-stop supplier for a larger range of processing solutions.
